How to Deactivate a Container

Explains how to turn off or deactivate a container in Inventory. This reversible action allows you to manage your container inventory effectively by marking assets as inactive, which removes them from circulation while preserving their historical data.

Updated today

Sometimes you need to deactivate a container in your inventory. This process removes it from active service without permanently deleting its record, which is useful for managing assets that are temporarily out of use (damaged, undergoing maintenance, or otherwise unavailable).

There are two methods for deactivating an inventoried container:

  1. From the main Inventory tab

  2. Direct from the customer’s location service page

Detailed process steps for each flow are below! You will need access to the Inventory tab / module to follow these steps.

This feature is currently in an open beta. If you run into any issues or have feedback, reach out to support with the blue chat bubble in your Hauler Hero account or support@haulerhero.com.

  • Deactivating a container is a non-permanent action. You can reactivate it at any time by returning to this page and clicking the toggle back to the on position.

  • This is different from deleting a container, which permanently removes it from the system, or removing a container, which just unassigns it from a specific service and location back to the general inventory. See How to Delete or Remove a Container for more.
