What does it mean to log an exception for a work order or container?
Reporting exceptions is essential for logging any issues you encounter during a service. For example, a damaged container, an inaccessible location, or unexpected item(s). By logging these situations as they happen, you help to keep an accurate picture of what’s going out on the field.
How do I report an exception for a specific container?
While on the Work Order Detail view, under the Containers card, search for the container you want to log an exception for and click the yellow alert icon.
A slide-out will appear and provide you a place to:
Images - Upload one or more photos illustrating the problem
Notes - Provide notes to help your team better understand what the problem is
Exception Type - Categorize what kind of a problem you’re logging
Depending on the type of problem you pick, additional fields may appear to further describe the situation (e.g. “No Access” will ask you if the container is blocked, not out, or locked).
If your account has permission to do so, you can configure the exception types you and your team should pick from in Settings. Learn more here:
What if I want to log an exception with the work order itself?
You can do so by clicking “+ Exception” in the Exceptions card, right under the Containers card.
And, just like when you’re logging an exception for a specific container, the same slide-out from above will appear. This time, however, it will show you are logging the exception for the work order as a whole, not for a specific container.
