What is a Work Order?
Work orders are how we turn scheduled services into clean, billable records of what happened on the field. Every work order captures the who/what/where/when of a service, whether it was auto-generated from a recurring service or a one-time job, so your team can dispatch confidently, your drivers can document the stop, and your office can bill accurately.
Before you start
There many ways to access the Work Order Detail view:
Customers → Accounts → Location → Routing & Work Orders
Route Manager board views or list view, Master Sequence view → Any of the container badges
Billing → Work Orders

Moving down to the Details section, we’ve arranged the work order’s details into 3 columns.
In the first column, we have Location information:

Address Details - The work order’s location name and full address.
Location Contacts and Notes - A list of the location’s point(s) of contact and a view of any notes pertaining the work order’s location.
In the second column, we have a Container list and Exceptions list:
Containers - This card lists all the containers associated with the work order. You can search for specific containers and report exceptions directly for any of them (e.g. damage).
Exceptions - This card lists all the reported exceptions for the work order or its containers. You can add work order-level exceptions (e.g. no access if a gate’s locked) or exceptions for specific containers.
In the third column, we have Invoice Details, General Fees, Disposal Tickets, and Work Order Notes.
Invoice Details - Communicates whether or not that work order is ready for invoicing or not. If the work order in question has been invoiced, the invoice’s details we be provided here.
General Fees - Use these to add additional charges to the work order (e.g. fuel surcharge).
Disposal Ticket - Add disposal tickets associated to the work order. It will ask you for the ticket number, disposal site, materials, weights, and fees to be associated with the disposal.
Work Order Notes - Notes specific to only this instance of the work order.
And finally, we have the Activity History tab. The Activity History tab provides a detailed, chronological log of every change and action taken on the work order, which is useful for auditing and tracking what happens on the field.
In it, you’ll find what changed on the work order, its old value, its new/current value, who made the change, and when they made the change.
