How can I optimize my route and its stop order?

Discusses how haulers can optimize a given route’s stop order

Is one of your routes taking longer than expected to run? If yes, it might be be because the order of its stops isn’t as efficient as it could be. Hauler Hero’s “Route Sequence Optimization” will reorder stops in the interest of minimizing driving distance.

First, from the Route Manager Board or List view, click the blue Bulk button and click “Route Sequence Optimization.” Select the date of the route you want to optimize.

Then, select which route you want to optimize for the date you selected, and click “Optimize Route Sequence.”

Finally, review the new proposed route order on the right. You’ll be given:

  • The original route’s travel distance

  • The new route’s travel distance

  • The proposed order of the route’s stops

If you’re happy with the results:

  • Save Current Day — To save that route and its new stop order to just that current day’s instance of the route (you can check what date you’re on at the top right corner, above the map).

  • Save Permanent — To save that route and its new stop order to that current day and all future instances of that route.

  • Edit Master Sequence — To not save anything yet and to be taken to the Master Sequence view to continue your reordering needs.

Keep in mind for routes with 500+ stops

Our route optimization feature may struggle with routes with 500+ stops. We’ll revisit this limitation in a future version of Hauler Hero CRM.
