How do I reactivate a deactivated account?

Reactivating a customer brings back their locations, services, and work orders in one step. You choose what comes back and how billing restarts, and Hauler Hero creates the stops for you.

This article is for office admins and CSRs who manage customer accounts in Hauler Hero CRM.

In this article, we'll cover:

  • How to reactivate an account

  • How to choose a start date

  • What happens after you reactivate

Before we start

How do I reactivate an account?

First, open the deactivated customer's profile. Click the 3-dot menu at the top right, then Reactivate. You can also click Reactivate account from the account's 3-dot menu on the Customers list.

The Reactivate Account window opens. Under Start dates, leave Today selected unless the account was deactivated by mistake (see below).

Under Reactivate Locations & Services, every location and service starts selected. Untick anything that shouldn't come back, such as a service the customer cancelled before the account was deactivated. Unticking a location also unticks its services. The line under the list tells you how many locations and services will be reactivated.

If your company records won reasons, pick a Won Reason. Then click Reactivate Account.

Which Start Date should I use?

  • Today (default) -- Each service starts again on the day you reactivate, and billing restarts from that day. Use this when the customer stopped service and is coming back.

  • Keep Original -- Each service keeps its original start date. Use this for scenarios such as when the account was deactivated by mistake and the customer never stopped service. Keep in mind this may bill for the time the account was deactivated.

You can always update a service’s Start Date later from the service itself.

Note: If a service runs every 2 or more weeks (for example, every 2 weeks or every 2 months), Today will restart its schedule from the reactivation date. If this date doesn’t line up with its old schedule, you’ll need to update the Start Date for that service accordingly.

What happens after I reactivate?

The account, locations, and services you selected are reactivated. A “Work orders are regenerating.” notification will display, as well as a “Creating work orders” status chip next to their name.

When it’s done, the chip will go away and you’ll receive a notification that the work orders were created.

IMPORTANT: Reactivated stops come back unrouted; you’ll need to re-assign them to routes via Route Manager.
