How do email opt-outs, Jolly Day reminders and consent work?

How email unsubscribes work, who gets a Jolly Day reminder, and where employee consent comes from.

For: Owners, Managers

Employees can also opt out of emails, and Jolly Day reminders follow set rules. This article explains both, and where consent comes from.

How do email opt-outs work?

  • Referral emails have a one-click unsubscribe link. Jolly tracks and enforces email opt-outs the same way as text opt-outs.

  • Admin email reports are separate. You can switch them off in Settings, under Email Reports.

Who gets a Jolly Day reminder?

The monthly Jolly Day reminder goes to an employee who accepted the Terms of Service and has 1 or more unclaimed points or a pending survey. An employee in two organizations gets one reminder, for the right organization.

Where does consent come from?

In short: employees agree to our terms, and your own paperwork completes the record.

Jolly is opt-in. Every employee accepts the Terms and Privacy Policy before onboarding. Your own enrollment paperwork is the other half of the record. Jolly does not store a separate marketing consent flag for each employee. The opt-out list is the record of who has withdrawn.
