Consumer App - Landlord Functionality

Firstly it's important to remember that there is only one Street Consumer App for your customers, which is called Street.co.uk. See our Street Consumer App overview article for more information.

This article focuses on the landlord role within the consumer app, outlining what functionality is available such landlords having access to their portfolio of properties as well as the key tenancy details, maintenance jobs, statements and income reports.

You can also learn more about the consumer app functionality specifically for Tenants here, Owners here and Buyers here.

Properties Tab

When a landlord logs in they will see the Properties tab showing their portfolio of properties. From here the landlord can click into an individual property to see the key tenancy information such as the term details, rent amount and frequency, service level and management fee.

Note - This information is purely informational and the details cannot be edited by the landlord.

Appointments

Valuation and photo and measure appointments will show on the properties tab, showing the date and time, agent visiting and a description of the appointment. It is not possible for the seller to cancel/confirm these appointments, they are displayed for informational purposes only.

Tasks

Additionally, within a specific property the landlord will see a 'tasks' section where they will be able to complete the PIQ (if you have this setup).

Maintenance Tab

The maintenance tab shows a breakdown of all ongoing and completed maintenance jobs, along with their current status and relevant details such as reported on date, cost (once a quote has been instructed) and completed on date.

For more information, see our Landlord Managing Maintenance help article.

Statements Tab

The statements tab shows a list of all properties the landlord owns. Clicking into a specific property will display a list of all statements that have been sent for that property and can also generate their own income report by selecting a 'from' and 'to' date.

Menu

The menu tab is split into a couple of different sections however the key section for your landlords is Documents.

Documents

From the documents section landlords can access any documents that have been shared with them, either manually on an individual document basis or when sent via email as an attachment.

Individual documents can be shared via the property's Documents and Files page (Info > Documents and Files) by clicking the three dots > share settings:

When uploading a document to Street, via Create Document > File Upload, you will also see an option to share the document:

If you need to 'unshare' a document, go back to these share settings and untoggle the box.

Additionally, any files that have been attached to an email and sent to the landlord will automatically display in their Documents tab in their app.

Note - If you are instead looking to edit what email notifications are sent to landlords, you can control these at an individual property level, see here for more information.

Privacy Policy & Terms and Conditions

The Privacy Policy & Terms and Conditions sections refer to Street Group's policy and T&C's.

Consumer App Notifications for Landlords

By default, there are a few automated notifications that are sent out to landlords, highlighting the opportunity to download the consumer app which can be managed via notification preferences.

The first time the landlord is notified about the app is when the valuation is sent to the them. This notification is in the valuations section of notification preferences and is called 'valuation send'. By default this has links to the Apple app store / Google play store to download the app, as well as a direct link to access the valuation via browser. However it's important to note the content of this notification can be edited via edit notification content so you can remove the app store links if you wish.

The second occasion is when a lettings offer is relayed to the landlord, via the lettings offer page. This notification is in the lettings applicants section of notification preferences and is called 'lettings offer received'. As with valuation sent, the content can be edited.

The third occasion is when a lettings offer is accepted. This notification is also in the lettings applicants section of notification preferences and is called 'lettings application submitted'. The content of this can also be edited.

The final occasion is when a tenancy is created. This notification is also in the lettings applicants section of notification preferences and is called 'send landlord app notification' however it's important to note that while this notification can be toggled on/off, the content of this email cannot be edited via your notification preferences.

Below is an example of what the 'send landlord app notification' email will look like, providing some key information on what functionality the landlord app has as well as links for the landlord to download the app via the Apple app store / Google play store:

Sharing the App with your Customers

The Street Consumer App makes it extremely easy for tenants to manage their tenancy and self serve, with key details made readily available and access to submitting maintenance issues that feed straight into your Street.co.uk account.

To get things started, we suggest toggling on the automated emails we talked about earlier in this article. This way, new landlords will be prompted to download the app when their property has a tenancy created. But, if you'd like to send a personal message to your customers, we've got you covered…

We’ve drafted a handy, fully-customisable letter template which can be edited to fit your agency’s tone of voice and messaging. Simply download our letter template below, edit it, then hit ‘Send’ via email or print it off and post it.

When you’re talking to landlords, remember to always share the links to the Street.co.uk consumer app with them. It's super easy for them to download and start using right away:

Download on the App Store | Download on the Google Play Store

For more information on sharing the Street Consumer App download links with your customers see this help article.
