Making the most of the Ad Designs page

How to browse, filter, save to collections, and generate ads from Cuttable's Ad Designs page

Written by Ash

The Ad Designs page is your library of all available designs you can use to create your ads.

Browsing by tab

At the top of the Ad Designs page, you can switch between tabs to browse different subsets of the design library:

  • All Designs: Shows the full library of ad designs available in Cuttable

  • Top Performing: Shows designs with a high click-through rate (High CTR) or high return on ad spend (High ROAS)

  • Trending: Shows designs with a high usage rate across Cuttable accounts

  • Collections: Your saved collections appear alongside these three tabs. Favorited is included by default, and you can create additional collections to organize designs for specific campaigns or use cases.

Design card tags

Each design card may display one or more tags that indicate performance or recency:

  • New: The design was recently added to the Cuttable library

  • Trending: The design has a high usage rate across Cuttable accounts. These designs also appear in the Trending tab.

  • High CTR: The design has a high click-through rate based on performance data. These designs also appear in the Top Performing tab.

  • High ROAS: The design has a high return on ad spend based on performance data. These designs also appear in the Top Performing tab.

Finding the right design

To narrow down designs, use the filter tags at the top of the page. The available filters are:

  • Layout

  • Text

  • Ad Type

  • Ad Format

  • Aspect Ratio

You can also use the search bar to type in keywords and find designs that match specific themes or styles.

Each design card displays how long the ad runs, whether it includes a static version, and which aspect ratios it supports.

Choosing and favoriting the right designs

When you brief Cuttable, it checks that your brief, your assets, and your selected designs actually fit together before generating ads. Choosing designs with this in mind helps your ads generate smoothly and reduces the chance of a fit warning further down the line. See How to Make Ads for more on how these checks work.

Before favoriting or selecting a design for a brief, it's worth thinking about:

  • Your assets — does the design need a specific number of images, a video, or a logo, and do you have assets that fit its layout and aspect ratio?

  • Your copy — does the design's text layout suit the length and structure of the messaging you're planning to use?

  • The design's purpose — is it built for the kind of campaign you're running, for example awareness versus a specific offer or sale?

Favoriting a design saves it for quick access, but it doesn't guarantee it will be used or that it's exempt from these fit checks. If a favorited design doesn't suit a particular brief, Cuttable will still flag it, and you can dismiss the warning or choose a better-suited design instead.

Collections

Collections let you save and organize designs for quick access. The Favorited collection is available in all accounts by default. You can create additional collections to group designs for specific use cases, for example, saving a set of designs ahead of an upcoming sales campaign.

To create a new collection:

  1. Click + Create collection in the collections tab bar.

  2. Type in a name for the collection and confirm.

To save a design to a collection:

  1. Hover over a design and click the bookmark icon. A dropdown will appear — select the collection you want to save the design to.

Alternatively, to save multiple designs at once:

  1. Click the tick boxes on one or more design cards to multi-select them.

  2. Click Save to Collection in the action bar that appears below the filter tags.

  3. Select the collection you want to save the designs to.

Removing designs

To remove a single design from your library, click the ban icon on the design card. The design will no longer appear in your default view.

To remove multiple designs at once, click the tick boxes on the design cards you want to remove, then use the Remove option in the action bar below the filter tags.

Restoring removed designs

Designs you have removed can be found in the Removed collection, located at the far right of the collections tabs above the search bar.

To restore a removed design:

  1. Open the Removed collection.

  2. Click the ban icon on the design you want to restore.

  3. Click Bring Back in the popup that appears.

The design will be restored to your ad design library.

Using the design sidebar

Clicking on any design opens a sidebar on the right side of the page. The sidebar has two tabs:

Generate Ads

Use this tab to create multiple ads from the selected design. Write a short brief describing what you would like the ad to be about, set the number of ads to generate, and click Generate. This works similarly to the open brief chat, but is limited to the design you selected.

Editor

Use this tab to manually create a single ad using the selected design as a base.

From the sidebar, you can also favorite the design, remove it, download video assets or statics, or copy a link to the design.
