How to make testimonial ads in Cuttable

Use real customer testimonials to produce testimonial ads directly in Cuttable.

Overview

Testimonials in Cuttable work like assets. You upload each testimonial once, store it on your Testimonials page, and pull it into briefs when you need it. You can add testimonials manually, or import them in bulk from a CSV file.

Cuttable never rewrites or invents testimonials. The text that appears in your ads is always the exact text you uploaded, with no edits, paraphrasing, or AI generation. When a testimonial is trimmed to fit a design, Cuttable uses a verbatim snippet from the original testimonial. This is a guarantee, not a configurable setting.

How to add a single testimonial manually

To add a single testimonial manually:

  1. Go to the Testimonials page.

  2. Select Add testimonial.

  3. Fill in the testimonial details and save.

The testimonial is then stored on your Testimonials page and ready to use in any brief.

How to import testimonials via CSV

You can import testimonials in bulk by uploading a CSV file on the Testimonials page.

  1. Go to the Testimonials page.

  2. Select Import CSV.

  3. Upload your CSV file.

Most review platforms let you export testimonials as a CSV. Supported exports include:

  • Trustpilot: export from your Trustpilot business dashboard.

  • Judge.me (Shopify): export from your Judge.me admin.

  • Okendo (Shopify): export from your Okendo dashboard.

To build your own CSV, download the Cuttable template from the import screen to get the correct column format. Once uploaded, testimonials are processed and stored on your Testimonials page, ready to use in briefs.

How to link testimonials to products after import

When you import testimonials by CSV, Cuttable automatically matches each testimonial to a product, based on which products are already marked Ad-Ready (ready to be used in ads) at the time of import. If you import testimonials before their matching product is marked Ad-Ready, those testimonials import without a product link.

To link testimonials that imported without a product:

  1. Go to the Testimonials page.

  2. Select Link to products.

  3. Cuttable matches any unlinked testimonials to their now-Ad-Ready products and reports the result in the notification panel.

Not every testimonial needs a product link. If your account has no products to match, such as a service business, that is expected, and Cuttable does not treat it as an error.

How to create testimonial ads

  1. Click Make Ads

  2. Select the + button to add testimonials from your Testimonials page.

  3. Choose the testimonials you want to use. You can add up to 10 testimonials per brief.

  4. Select Testimonial ad designs by filtering by "testimonials".

  5. Continue building your brief as normal.

If a testimonial is long, Cuttable automatically uses a verbatim snippet that fits the design. The original testimonial text is never rewritten.

How to create testimonial ads from the Testimonials page

You can also start a testimonial ad directly from a testimonial on the Testimonials page:

  1. Go to the Testimonials page.

  2. Select the testimonial you want to use.

  3. Choose Create ad to open a new brief with that testimonial pre-loaded.

Testimonials and products

A testimonial on the Testimonials page can display a related product tag. Cuttable sets this tag automatically when the matching product is already Ad-Ready at the time the testimonial is uploaded or imported. If a product was not yet Ad-Ready when its testimonial was added, no tag is applied, and you can link the testimonial to its product afterward by selecting Link to products on the Testimonials page, as described above.

The related product tag is informational only. It does not control which testimonials appear in an ad, so you must still add a testimonial to the brief yourself when creating an ad, as described above.

⭐ Important: if a testimonial displays a related product tag that looks wrong, contact support at support@cuttable.com with the testimonial and product details so the mismatch can be corrected.

How to delete testimonial ads from the Testimonials page

You can delete Testimonials under the Testimonials page:

  1. Go to the Testimonials page

  2. Select the testimonial you want to delete or ** select all (50 per page)

  3. Press delete

What happens next

Once your testimonials are in a brief, you can continue editing your ad like any other Cuttable design. Export or publish your ad based on your normal Cuttable workflow.

Important

  • Cuttable never rewrites or invents testimonials. Your ads always use the exact words your customers wrote. This rule applies to trimming too: when a testimonial is shortened to fit a design, Cuttable uses a verbatim snippet rather than a rewrite.

  • You can add up to 10 testimonials per brief.

  • Testimonials are stored as assets on your Testimonials page and can be reused across multiple briefs.
