What a collection is

A collection is a saved group of ad designs in your ad design library. Adding an ad design to a collection lets you find it again and reuse it in future ads. Every account has a default collection called Favourited. You can also create additional collections to organize designs by campaign, brand, or any other grouping you choose.

How to add an ad design from the Ad Designs page

The Ad Designs page shows your library of ad designs and lets you add any of them to a collection directly.

  1. Go to the Ad Designs page.

  2. Hover over the ad design you want to save. Three icons appear: a checkbox, a bookmark icon, and a no-entry icon.

  3. Click the bookmark icon.

  4. In the "Add to collection" popup, select an existing collection, such as Favourited, or click "+ New collection" to create one. See "How to create a new collection" below for the steps to create one.

How to add an ad design from Your Ads

Your Ads shows the specific ads generated for a campaign or brief. If you like how a generated ad turned out and want to reuse the ad design behind it, you can save that design to a collection from here. This saves the ad design itself, not the specific generated ad image or video.

  1. Open the campaign or brief in Your Ads that contains the ad you want to save.

  2. Hover over the ad. An "Edit" button and a three-dot menu appear in the top right corner of the ad.

  3. Click the three-dot menu.

  4. Select "Add this ad design to collection."

  5. In the "Add this design to..." popup, select an existing collection, such as Favourited, or click "+ New collection" to create one. See "How to create a new collection" below for the steps to create one.

How to add an ad design from Ad Insights

The Ad Insights page shows performance data for your published Meta ads. You can save the ad design behind any ad in Ad Insights to a collection by opening it in Your Ads.

  1. Go to the Ad Insights page.

  2. Select the ad whose design you want to save.

  3. Select "View in Original Ad Group." This opens the ad in Your Ads.

  4. Hover over the ad. An "Edit" button and a three-dot menu appear in the top right corner of the ad.

  5. Click the three-dot menu.

  6. Select "Add this ad design to collection."

  7. In the "Add this design to..." popup, select an existing collection, such as Favourited, or click "+ New collection" to create one. See "How to create a new collection" below for the steps to create one.

This saves the ad design itself, not the specific generated ad image or video. See the FAQ below for more on this distinction.

How to create a new collection

You can create a new collection from either the Ad Designs page or the Your Ads page, using the same "+ New collection" button described above.

  1. Open the "Add to collection" popup using either method described above.

  2. Click "+ New collection."

  3. Enter a name for the collection and click "Create new collection."

  4. The ad design is added to the new collection automatically.

Where to find your saved ad designs

Saved ad designs appear on the Ad Designs page. Your Favourited collection is always available as a tab near the top of the page, alongside tabs like "All Designs," "Top Performing," and "Trending." Any additional collections you create also appear as their own tabs, so you can click into a collection to see every ad design saved to it.

FAQs

What is the difference between saving an ad design and saving a generated ad?
Adding an ad design to a collection from the Ad Designs page saves that ad design directly. Adding an ad design to a collection from Your Ads, or from Ad Insights via Your Ads, saves the ad design used to create that specific generated ad, not the generated ad's image or video content.

Can I add the same ad design to more than one collection?
Yes, an ad design can belong to multiple collections at the same time. Selecting more than one collection in the "Add to collection" popup adds the design to each of them.
