How to Set Up an End Frame

How to build the branded closing card that plays at the end of your video ads

Written by Libby

Summary

An End Frame is a branded closing card that plays at the end of your video ads. You build End Frames in your Brand Kit using a color or media background, add as many text and logo layers as you need, and position the layers separately for each aspect ratio.

How to set up an End Frame

You can create one or more End Frames in your Brand Kit, set one as the default, or leave the default off and choose an End Frame for each ad. Changes to an End Frame save automatically as you make them, so there is no save button.

  1. Go to Brand Kit → End frames.

  2. Click + New end frame.

  3. In Name, enter a name for the End Frame so you can find it later.

  4. Use the Duration slider to set how long the End Frame plays. The End Frame duration is added to the end of the ad and does not cut into your footage.

  5. Choose a Background:

    • Color: click the color swatch to pick a color, or enter a hex code for an exact shade. OR

    • Media: use an image or video as the background. A video background can start partway through the file instead of from its first frame.

  6. Under Text layers, click + Add text to add a heading, such as a slogan or website. You can add as many text layers as you need. Click a text layer to open its settings, including font, size, color, and entrance animation. Text uses your brand font by default.

  7. Under Logo layers, click + Add logo to add a logo. You can add more than one logo. Click a logo layer to open its settings, including size and animation. To remove a layer, click the bin icon next to the layer.

  8. Set up the layout for each aspect ratio. An End Frame is laid out separately for each aspect ratio you export in, so headings and logos sit correctly in every format. To save time, copy the 9:16 aspect ratio's layout into the others instead of rebuilding it.

  9. Click the play button under the preview to watch the End Frame. The preview uses the same rendering as your finished ads, so the exported ad matches what you see in your Brand Kit.

Setting a default End Frame

A default End Frame is applied to all new ads automatically. To apply an End Frame to all new ads, enable Set as default for that End Frame. If no End Frame is set as the default, no End Frame is applied automatically, and you can choose one for each ad instead.

Choosing an End Frame for an ad

If you haven't set a default End Frame, or you want a different End Frame for a specific ad group, you can choose an End Frame when you create or edit the ad.

When creating ads:

  1. Open the Make Ads chat.

  2. Click the + icon in the input bar and select End Frame.

  3. Pick an End Frame from the list. The list shows all of your End Frames, and the End Frame you pick is added to every ad in that ad group.

In the editor:

  1. Select Elements

  2. Search End Frame and select your End Frame.

  3. The End Frame will be placed at the end of your ad

How End Frames behave in your ads

An End Frame is attached to your ad as a single closing card, so editing the footage before the End Frame doesn't break it.

  • The End Frame always plays last, even if you reorder the clips before it.

  • Trimming or reordering clips doesn't displace or remove the End Frame.

  • Once the End Frame starts, nothing else from the ad stays on screen.

  • Recut videos also include your End Frame, which plays as the final clip of the Recut export.

Notes

  • End Frames are available to all accounts. No special access is needed.

  • If you have more than one End Frame set up, you can choose a different End Frame for each ad.

  • You can also still manage End Frames in Settings → Ad Preferences, but this option will be removed in a future update. Use Brand Kit → End frames going forward.
