Managing music for your ads in Cuttable

Upload, create and mange the music you used in your Cuttable ads

How to generate a track

To generate a new AI music track:

  1. Go to Music in the main navigation.

  2. Make sure you are on the Generated tab.

  3. Enter a prompt describing the music you want (for example, "upbeat summer track with guitar"). If you are not sure what to write, click Try the prompt builder for guided options.

  4. By default, tracks will be made without vocals. If you want vocals, toggle off instrumental.

  5. Click Generate to create the track.

Your track will appear in your Generated tab once complete.

How to upload your own audio

To add a track you already own:

  1. Go to Music in the main navigation.

  2. Open the Uploads tab.

  3. Drop an audio file into the upload area, or click it to choose a file from your computer.

Cuttable supports .mp3, .wav, .aac and .m4a files up to 500MB. Uploaded tracks appear in the Uploads tab of your Music Library.

You must have the rights to use any track you upload. By uploading audio to your account, you acknowledge that you hold the appropriate rights or permissions for that material.

Browsing and searching your library

Your Music Library is split into four tabs:

  • Generated (AI-created tracks)

  • Uploads (audio you have uploaded)

  • Demo (demo tracks provided by Cuttable)

  • Archived (tracks you no longer want to use)

You can search across all tabs to find a specific track by name or prompt.

You can also rate tracks (thumbs up and down) to keep track of what is working for you.

How to remove a track

You remove a track by archiving it. Archiving moves the track out of your active library so it no longer appears as an option in the editor, without deleting it permanently.

  1. Go to Music in the main navigation.

  2. Find the track in the Generated or Uploads tab

  3. Select ⋮ next to the track and select Archive.

Archived tracks move to the Archived tab. To bring a track back, open the Archived tab, find the track, select ⋮ and then select Restore. The track returns to its original tab and is available to use in your ads again.

Turning off music entirely

There are three ways to stop music from appearing in your ads. Which one to use depends on whether you want no music as your account-wide default, no music for one brief only, or to remove music from an ad you have already made.

Option

Where

What it does

Prefer No Audio

Settings, then the Ad Preferences tab

Sets no music as your account default. Cuttable prefers ad templates without audio for every ad it generates, until you turn this off. See Setting Up Ad Preferences in Cuttable.

Select no music in your brief

The Make Ads brief

You can select to have no music appear in your ads directly in the Make Ads brief. This turns off music for the ads generated from that one brief only, without changing your account default. See How to Make Ads.

Remove music from an ad

The editor, on the timeline

Removes music from a single ad you have already made. Select the music clip on the timeline and click the trash icon. See How to Edit Your Ad in Cuttable.
