Monthly home value texts

Written by Jonathan Zadegan

Along with their monthly email, your clients can get their home value update by text. A text gets read when an email might not, and every one comes with your name on it.

How it works

Monthly emails go out at 8 AM ET over the first five days of the month. On the same day a client gets their email, clients with a mobile number also get a short text from +1 (236) 243-0227. Texts go to the same clients as the monthly email, so clients who are Uninvited or have unsubscribed don't get one. Clients can reply STOP at any time to opt out.

What your clients see

Every text is short and personal, with no links:

Hi Sarah, here's your October home value update from Jane Smith at Smith Realty Group.

123 Main St, Toronto
$425,000 (+1.2% vs last month)

Questions? Call or text Jane Smith at (416) 555-0123

  • Your name: the text comes from your Face of the Company if you've set one, otherwise the client's assigned agent, along with your team name.

  • Their homes: up to two properties, each with its value and whether it's up, down, unchanged or new this month. If they have more, the text says how many.

  • Call or text line: shows the assigned agent's name and phone number, so make sure your phone number is filled in under Settings.

Get more clients texting

A client needs a mobile number on file to receive texts. There are three ways to add one:

  • Create CMA: add a Mobile Number when you create a new client.

  • Client profile: open the client and click Add mobile number.

  • Their portal: clients without a number see a banner inviting them to Add number themselves.

If a client has opted out, their profile shows Texts: opted out.

Turn texts on or off

Monthly texts are on by default. Admins can switch them off for the whole team in Settings → Client notifications.

See what was sent

Each text appears in your Activity feed, and on the client's Activity tab, as Monthly update texted, along with its delivery status.
