Importing clients from a CSV

Written by Jonathan Zadegan

Got a spreadsheet of past clients, a sphere list or an old database? Import it into Homsie and every homeowner on it gets a valued home and an invite to their own branded portal. You're back in front of them every month without lifting a finger. CSV import is available on every plan once your MLS agreement is complete.

Start your import

Click Invite Clients in the sidebar, then Import from CSV. You'll also find it under Integrations → CSV.

  1. Upload your CSV: drag and drop your file, or click to browse. Not sure how to lay it out? Click Download sample file. Homsie also shows how many properties your plan has room for. Click Continue.

  2. Map your fields: Homsie automatically matches the common columns. Check each one and match anything it missed. Email and First Name are required. Add as many address and property details as you have, like bedrooms, bathrooms, square feet and purchase price, because more detail means a better first estimate. Click Next step.

  3. Configure your import: give it a name under Name this list, for example "Spring 2026 newsletter list", so you can find these clients later. Then choose your options:

    • Auto-approve Homsie AI evaluations sends each client their invite as soon as their value is ready. Leave it off to review every value in Needs Review first.

    • Add new contacts to your CRM adds new clients to Follow Up Boss, if it's connected.

    • Skip rows with missing required fields imports the complete rows and skips the rest.

  4. Launch: review the summary. It shows how many rows will be imported, any email addresses worth a second look (click Use suggestion to fix a typo), and any rows that will be skipped. Click Start Import.

⚠️ Important: only rows with a complete Canadian property address are imported. Click Show details on the skipped rows to see why each one was left out.

What happens next

Homsie takes you to Clients, where your import appears as a List. Each home is valued in the background, and invites go out automatically:

  • Review first (default): each client is invited once you approve their value in Needs Review.

  • Auto-approve: each client is invited as soon as their value is ready.

Any home Homsie can't value on its own shows Estimate unavailable. Add the missing details and run the estimate. See "Why does a property say "Estimate unavailable"?".

Bigger list than your plan?

If your file has more homes than your plan has room for, Homsie tells you before you start. You can Upgrade Plan, or start the import and let Homsie add the property packs you need, at 100 properties for $50/month each. See "Plans and property packs".
