My mailboxes show Failed, Pending, or "already exists"

What to do when mailbox status is Failed/Pending or recreating deleted mailboxes errors

Mailbox status meanings and next steps:

  • Pending: a new mailbox is still being provisioned. This normally completes within a few hours. If it stays Pending for more than 24 hours, contact support.

  • Failed: provisioning did not complete. Don't repeatedly recreate it — contact support so we can investigate and re-provision on the backend.

  • "Already exists" after deleting and recreating: deleted mailboxes are not freed instantly, so recreating the same name right away can collide with the old record. Wait, or contact support to fully clear the previous mailbox before recreating with the same name.

When contacting support, include the affected domain(s) and mailbox names so we can resolve it faster.
