How do I reorder a route’s stops?

Discusses how stops on a given route can be reordered

If you need to update the order a given route runs its stops, you have more than one option to do so.

  • You can click and drag stops within and across routes from the Route Manager Board view

  • You edit the sequence number from the Route Manager List view

  • Or, you can use “Change Route Sequence” found in the blue Bulk button’s menu

From the Board View

Moving stops on the Board View is as simple as clicking and dragging the stop where you want it to go.

When you click and hold, the stop will turn into a small box with the Customer/Location name. From here, you can move that stop anywhere in its current route to reorder it, or bring it to another route entirely on that day.

From the List View

Moving stops on the List View is simple, too; click “Change Sequence.”

Then click (the 6-dot icon) and drag the stops as you’d like. Unlike Board View’s move, you can only reorder stops within the route it’s in; you cannot move a stop from one route to another here.

As you move stops up and down the route, you’ll see a green arrow, noting how many stops earlier that stop moved from its original order, and a red arrow, noting how many stops later that stop moved.

Via Change Route Sequence

If you prefer a more explicit dialog to move stops, click the blue Bulk button in the top right, then click “Change Route Sequence.” Select which route and what day of that route you want to reorder.

Next, you’ll see a map with a list of that route’s stops on the left. Update the numbers one at a time to reorder your stops, with 1 being the first stop, 2 being the second, etc.

When you’re done reordering your route’s stops, click:

  • Save Current Day — To save that route and its new stop order to just that current day’s instance of the route (you can check what date you’re on at the top right corner, above the map).

  • Save Permanent — To save that route and its new stop order to that current day and all future instances of that route.

  • Edit Master Sequence — To not save anything yet and to be taken to the Master Sequence view to continue your reordering needs.
