If you’re more visual in nature and prefer to manage routes while looking at a map, Route Manager’s Map view is for you!
What can I do in Route Manager’s map view?
First and foremost, you’ll have the standard header:
A search bar you can use to search by route or address
A button taking you to Master Sequence
A button to add a new route
A button to access Bulk functionalities
Where the Map view starts differing is right below, where you’ll see a Map instead of columns of cards (Board view) or a list of routes and their stops (List view).
What can I do with the Map’s Control Panel?
Let’s walk through it, left to right, top to bottom.
Unassigned Stops - Show/hide unassigned stops on the map.
Assigned Stops - Show/hide assigned (to a route) stops on the map.
Driver Path - Show/hide the paths your drivers are currently driving.
Sequence line - Show/hide lines that depict the order the stops on a route are run (make sure you have “Assigned Stops” on).
Containers - Show/hide where your containers are currently located.
WebGL - This toggles whether or not the Map view uses your computer’s GPU (graphics processing unit, aka “video card”) to process the map and achieve smoother performance.
Cluster Zoom Level - This adjusts how/when stops are grouped into clusters as opposed to showing up individually.
Offset Level - This adjusts how much individual stops’ markers overlap with each other.
Label Spacing - This adjusts the spacing between stops’ labels whenever their markers overlap.
Data Grouping - Unified will show all stops together. Route groups stops by their assigned routes.
Map Style - Switches between Street view and Satellite imagery.
Filters - Allows you to filter for stops based on:
What route their assigned to
What business line they’re in
Method of hauling
The material behind hauled
The measure of their container
What action they require
Their current status
What tags it has
Whether or not it has photos
Whether or not it has videos
What can I do with the stops themselves?
When clicking an unassigned stop, you’ll be able to view that stop’s work order details (as well as any Exceptions or Notes) and can assign the stop to a route if you choose.
If you click an assigned stop, you’ll see the same information, except the “Assign” button at the top is replaced with a “Change Route & Sequence” button to reassign it to a different route and/or reorder it in whichever route the stop lives.
In the “Change Route & Sequence” views, you’ll have two approaches to update where your selected stop is sequenced.
Nearest Stop -- This allows you to view what stops are near your selected stop; choosing a stop from this dropdown will sequence your selected stop to be soon after the stop you choose.
By Route -- This allows you to pick a route to sequence the stop into; edit your stop’s number to resequence it in that route.
