Overview of the Non-Golf Events (Social Events)

Updated over 2 months ago

This feature is available for the following product:

While we typically use Tournament Management for core golf event tasks like, scorecards, scoring, and leaderboards, most associations and facilities host a broader range of activities. These often include annual meetings, social gatherings, dinners, and other non-golf events. To accommodate this, you can set up a dedicated 'Non-Golf Event.' This leverages the familiar functionalities of our event/league system but streamlines the user experience by presenting a simplified menu focused on non-golf activities.

In this article, we will discuss creating and setting up a non-golf event and highlight some key differences between non-golf events and events/leagues.

Creating a Non-Golf Event

A non-golf event can be added to the Customer Center. To create your next non-golf event, follow these directions:

  1. From the Customer Center, Click "Create New Event/League/Trip" .

  2. Enter the name of the event.

  3. Set the Type to Non-Golf Event (as shown below).

  4. Select the category and season.

  5. Click "Get Started" to begin setting up your non-golf event.

Highlights of the Differences

There will be some key differences in the language used between an event/league and a non-golf event:

  • Non-Golf Event: The term Non-Golf Event will be used in places were you would typically see the term Event/League.

  • Participants: The term Participants will be used in the place of Golfers.

  • Event Days: The term "Event Days" will be used in place of "Rounds." The Calendar and Rounds Tabs will be combined.

The following features are not available in Non-Golf Events (Note: If you wish to use them, please set up an Event/League instead.):

  • Course Details

  • Multi-Round Tournaments/Series

  • Handicap Management

  • Analytics

  • Round Signup

  • Round Tournaments

  • Scoring

  • And more.

Managers Site for Non-Golf Event

There are several menus available in a Non-Golf Event. These menus contain similar content to the menus that you might see in an Event/League. While not all content is available for a Non-Golf Event that you might see in an Event/League, you can find a description and information on how to utilize the features in related articles.

The menus available for a non-golf event and their related articles are as follows:

  • Non-Golf Event: Share the same content as the Event/League Menu.

  • Participants: Share the same content with the Golfers Menu.

  • Event Days: This menu includes a collection of content from the Calendar and Rounds menus. When first visiting this menu, it will look more like the Calendar Menu. Once days are added, it will look more like the Rounds Menu.

  • Apps Menu: This menu shares the same content as the Apps Menu.
