What To Do About PCI Compliance Reminder Emails

How to tell whether a PCI compliance notice is legitimate, and what PCI compliance actually requires.

What PCI Compliance Actually Means

PCI compliance means following the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) to protect cardholder data during transactions. It's an annual requirement for any merchant processing electronic payments — it isn't something specific to Chariot.

How to Tell If a PCI Notice Is Actually From Chariot

Any legitimate PCI compliance notice tied to your Chariot payments processing will come directly from Chariot Support, and will include a form ID you can look up in your Payments Dashboard.

If you receive a PCI compliance email from a sender you don't recognize (for example, a third-party "compliance" or "security metrics" style vendor) that doesn't reference a Chariot form ID, it did not come from Chariot.

What To Do If You Get a Suspicious PCI Email

  • Don't click any links or enter information through the email directly.

  • Forward it to Chariot Support (support@chariotmove.com) and we'll confirm whether it's legitimate.

  • If you suspect it's phishing, you can also report or mark it as spam with your email provider.

If you do have a real, outstanding PCI compliance requirement from Chariot, reach out to Chariot Support and we can help you locate and complete it.
