Summary
Fieldwork's Diagram feature allows you to map out customer properties, place device locations, and calculate treatment coverage areas. By enabling Diagram Editor Version 2, you gain access to updated mapping tools—including automated square footage calculations and exact device placement—directly within a customer's service location.

Before You Start
Have these items ready before creating your diagram:
Admin/Account Access: Ability to adjust company settings and add-ons.
Customer Profile: An active customer with a designated service location in your Fieldwork account.
Device Details: Knowledge of device locations, wall dimensions, or specific
zones needing annotation.
Setup & Configuration
Before creating diagrams, make sure you are using the latest version of the diagram editor.
From your main dashboard, go to Settings.
Under the Company Setup section, click on Add-ons.
Locate Diagram Editor version 1 and toggle it Off.
Locate Diagram Editor version 2 and toggle it On.
How to Open a Diagram
Once Version 2 is enabled, you can launch the editor directly from a customer record:
From the dashboard, click Customers.
Select the customer you want to work with.
Choose the specific Service Location you wish to map.
In the top right corner, click the action dropdown menu.
Select Draw Diagram (v2).
Tools Overview
The Diagram Editor Version 2 interface includes several built-in tools to help customize your map:

Opacity | Controls the transparency level of overlays and layers. |
Pointer | Default tool for selecting, moving, and dragging items. |
Wall | Draws structural walls and automatically calculates square footage for treatment areas. |
Text | Adds custom text labels, notes, or zone names. |
Hide Map | Toggles the visibility of the default background map on or off. |
Ruler | Measures physical distances across the property map. |
Grid | Overlays a grid on the canvas for precise measurement alignment. |
Insert Image | Imports external images, property floor plans, or logos onto the diagram. |
Placing Devices
Mapping device placement helps technicians visually identify target inspection points on-site.
Navigate to the Devices section in the editor sidebar on the right side of the screen.
Select the specific device type.
Click, drag, and drop the device onto its precise location on the diagram canvas.
Reposition or adjust the device pin using the Pointer tool as needed.
Saving Your Diagram
Review your canvas to ensure all walls, labels, and devices are properly aligned.
Click the Save button.
Your completed diagram is now permanently linked to that customer's service location under floor plans and accessible for future service visits and job documentation.
Notes
Always ensure Diagram Editor Version 2 is enabled prior to starting a new map, as legacy features in Version 1 differ.
Saved diagrams sync directly with service records for quick reference by office staff and field technicians.
