Summary

Change the 'look and feel' of your Service and Invoice PDF files from black and white Classic to four-color Modern.

Key Points

  • Choose your template style in Document Templates

  • Choose Classic as the style that's always been available in Fieldwork

  • Choose Modern and select colors for Border, Header Background, and Header Text colors

  • Use Hex color codes for precise color selection

  • Use similar colors for pleasant eye appeal

  • Make use of the Preview button before sending your emails

Go to Settings/Document Templates. On the right side of the page, choose your template style: Classic or Modern.

Choose Classic as the style that's always been available in Fieldwork. The text is black and there are no borders around sections. This template is best for printing PDFs if your printer prints in only one color.

Choose Modern to add a little color to your PDFs for Border, Header Background, and Header Text.

Select a color for each of the three color components.

Selecting a color is the same as selecting a color for Custom Statuses in Calendar & Settings, click the box to the right of header color and click your mouse in the right side of the color spectrum where the color matches your company color; then click the left side to zero in on a specific color.

If you want to get very specific with the color you can type in the Hex color code. This is a 6-alphanumeric code that maps out to specific colors. For a list of the Hex color code and its color, see Hex color codes. An example color code for each is below.

This is not a recommended color selection but is used to show how the colors are applied to the template.

Note Keep these colors on the softer, lighter side for pleasant eye appeal.

Make use of the Preview button before sending your emails. You don't want to receive negative feedback from your customers about your color selection.
