What can I do with bookings and scheduling in Walkies?

Services, ways to book, your calendar, availability and client booking requests in Walkies.

Walkies keeps all your bookings in one calendar. You can set up your services and prices, book one-off and repeating visits, stays and group walks, choose when clients can book you, and let clients send booking requests from the Walkies Journal app.

Services and prices

  • Services: walks, drop-ins, hikes, runs, pet taxis, daycare, boarding, overnight stays, home sitting, training, grooming, meet & greets and more, each with its own duration and price. Charge more for extra pets, and charge stays per day, per night or once. See How do I add a service?

  • Surcharges: charge more at busy times, like weekends, holidays or early mornings. See How do I add a surcharge?

Your calendar

  • Views: List, Day, Week, Month and All, on the Appts tab.

  • Colors and birthdays: color appointments by activity type, team member or status, and show pet birthdays, in Menu > Your app settings > Appointment settings.

  • Calendar sync: see your appointments in Apple Calendar, Google Calendar or another calendar app, with a read-only subscription link. See How do I sync Walkies with my calendar?

  • Reminders: in Menu > Appointment notifications, get a push notification before each appointment, and send clients a reminder the day before. Client reminders need Walkies Max.

When clients can book you

Good to know

  • Your hours, Busy and Holiday only limit what clients can request. You can always book anything yourself, and you'll see a warning if it overlaps.

  • You choose whether your client is told each time you book, change or cancel an appointment.

  • Each booking can be invoiced when it's booked, when it starts, or not at all. See Which way of invoicing should I use?

  • You can ask clients to pay when they book. See How do I take payment when clients book?
