Settings - Device Area

Define the areas where your devices are located

Written by Rosie O'hara

Summary

A Device Area is the location where a device or bait station is installed — for example, Kitchen, Loading Dock, or Exterior Perimeter. Defining your areas here gives techs a consistent set of options in the mobile app when they place or service a device, making it easy to find on-site stations and report by area later.

Key Points

  • Create a device area for each distinct location where you install devices

  • Techs assign these on the mobile app when placing or servicing a device

  • Consistent areas make stations easier to locate and reporting cleaner

How to Get to Device Area

  1. From the top of the Navigation menu, click on Settings (gear icon)

  2. Under Device & Trap Settings, click on Device Area

How to Create a Device Area

Click the New Device Area button in the upper right.

  1. Enter the Device Area Name

  2. Click the green Create Device Area button to save

Choosing Good Device Areas

  • Keep names specific but reusable — "Exterior Perimeter" or "Boiler Room" works across many accounts.

  • Match how your techs talk on site so the option they need is obvious.

  • Don't over-split. Too many near-identical areas slow techs down and clutter reports.

Examples

Common device areas include:

  • Kitchen

  • Dry Storage

  • Loading Dock

  • Exterior Perimeter

  • Roof

  • Boiler / Mechanical Room

  • Restrooms

Important note: Anytime you change something in Settings, your techs must Reload Data in the mobile app to see the change.
