Set up FedEx in yayloh

Connect your FedEx account and create return labels, including paperless customs.

Written by Vineeta Pendse

Create FedEx return labels directly from yayloh, including paperless customs for cross-border returns.

Using FedEx through Webshipper or nShift instead? See Webshipper or nShift.

Before you start

  • A FedEx account, with the countries you want to offer returns from.

  • Your warehouse set up under Settings > Stores & warehouses. You'll choose it when you create the route.

  • Admin access to yayloh.

Which FedEx carrier company to use

Carrier company

Use it for

FEDEX_EXPRESS

A regular FedEx account. Most stores use this one.

FEDEX_EXPRESS_OUTBOUND

Returns booked as outbound shipments, for example from Great Britain to the Nordics.

FEDEX

FedEx Ground. Not needed for most stores.

Step 1: Connect your FedEx account

FedEx requires a quick verification before yayloh can create labels on your account.

  1. Complete the user license agreement through the FedEx authentication link.

  2. Take a screenshot of the confirmation page.

  3. Send the screenshot to support@yayloh.com. We'll finish the connection on our side and let you know when your FedEx carrier is ready.

Step 2: Create a route

  1. Go to Settings > Carriers & Routes, open the Routes tab and click Add route.

  2. Choose your FedEx carrier under Use.

  3. Under Allow returns from, choose the countries enabled in your FedEx account.

  4. Choose your Default warehouse.

  5. Open Specifications and fill in the fields below.

Field

What to enter

SERVICE_CODE (required)

Your FedEx service, for example FEDEX_PRIORITY

PAPERLESS

Turn on for paperless customs (see below)

Paperless customs

For paperless customs, turn on PAPERLESS in the route, and add a tariff number (HS code) to each product in Shopify or Centra. To test it, use a return request with an item that has an HS code and a value of at least 1.

Step 3: Save and test

Click Apply changes, then create a test label on the Labels page.

Frequently asked questions

How does the customer get the commercial invoice?

It's included in the return confirmation email. Add any instructions about the invoice to that email under Settings: E-mail templates.

How do I download a commercial invoice?

On the Return management page, open the dropdown in the Shipping label column and click Download Invoice.

Good to know

  • Labels only work for countries enabled in your FedEx account. To add a country, contact FedEx first.

  • Returns failing with "exceeds value limits"? FedEx drop-off points only accept shipments up to a certain declared value. Check with FedEx what applies to your account.

For how routes, priority and fallbacks work, see Carriers & Routes: how it works.
