If your browser shows an error like "Your connection is not private," "Can't provide a secure connection," or ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR when trying to load darkroom.com, this is almost always caused by security software on your home network, not a problem with our site or your account.
The most common cause: ISP "Advanced Security" features
Many home internet providers now include a built-in security filter that scans and sometimes blocks websites it thinks look suspicious. These filters occasionally flag legitimate sites by mistake, and darkroom.com has been caught in this before, most often with Xfinity/Comcast's "Advanced Security" feature.
How to check if this is the cause:
Try loading darkroom.com on your phone using cellular data instead of WiFi. If the site loads fine on cellular but not on your home WiFi, your network's security filter is the culprit.
How to fix it (Xfinity/Comcast customers):
Open the Xfinity app
Go to WiFi > Advanced Security
Turn Advanced Security off (or add darkroom.com to any allow list, if your version offers one)
Reload darkroom.com
The site should load immediately. You're welcome to turn Advanced Security back on afterward, the block is usually a one-time false positive, not a recurring issue.
Using a different provider?
Other providers offer similar built-in security or parental control features (sometimes under names like "Safe Browsing," "Threat Protection," or "Web Shield"). If cellular data works but home WiFi doesn't, check your router or provider's app for a similar setting and try disabling it temporarily.
If that doesn't fix it
If you've confirmed it's not a network security filter (or you're not sure), reach out to us at support@darkroom.com and let us know:
Which browser you're using
Whether you're on WiFi or cellular when the error appears
Your internet provider
We'll take it from there.
