Navigating the Pricing Tab
The Pricing tab is where you manage how much you earn from your art. We highly recommend using this tab to set your global pricing rather than adjusting prices on individual photos. Managing your prices globally ensures consistency across your storefront and keeps you from losing track of custom pricing down the road!
1. Pricing by Product Type
Your dashboard splits pricing into five distinct product tables: Fine Art Paper, Professional Paper, Fine Art Canvas, Metal, and Frames.
Enable or Disable Formats: You have complete control over what you sell. Simply toggle each print type on or off. By default, three of these five formats are enabled when you open your account.
Paper Finishes: For Professional Photo Paper prints, you can use this tab to set your default finish preference between Matte and Lustre.
2. Setting Your Rates
For each print size and type, you can easily adjust your rates to find the perfect sweet spot:
Pricing Slider: Available to all creators to easily scale prices up or down.
Manual Price Input (Darkroom+ Only): Upgrade to Darkroom+ to unlock the ability to type in exact, custom dollar amounts for individual sizes.
3. Understanding Your Profit Margin
As you adjust your prices, the table will automatically show your Estimated Profit per print. This is calculated using the following formula:
Estimated Profit = Sales price - [Print cost + Darkroom fee]
š” What is the Darkroom Fee?
Our platform fee scales depending on your membership tier:
Standard (Free) Accounts: 15% platform fee on the sales price.
Darkroom+ Accounts: Reduced 5% platform fee on the sales price.
We highly recommend visiting the Pricing tab early in your Darkroom journey to get comfortable with your margins and set yourself up for success!
