Regional Inventory for Exchanges (Shopify Markets)

Only offer exchanges that are in stock at the locations serving your customer's Shopify Market.

Written by Vineeta Pendse

Only offer exchanges that can actually ship to your customer. With regional inventory, yayloh checks stock at the locations that serve the customer's Shopify Market, instead of your total store inventory.

Optional, Shopify only. Turn it on if you sell in several markets with their own fulfillment locations. If it's off, yayloh uses your total store inventory.

How it works

When a customer chooses an exchange, yayloh looks up their Shopify Market, the locations that fulfill that market, and your shipping rules. A variant is only offered if it's in stock at one of those locations.

yayloh relies entirely on your Shopify setup, so your products, locations and shipping rules need to match.

Before you start: check your Shopify setup

  • Order routing: set to Ship from closest location, under Settings > Shipping and delivery > Order routing.

  • Shipping profiles: each market has a fulfillment location in your active shipping profile.

  • Market catalogs: your products are published to each market's catalog, under Settings > Markets > Catalogs.

  • SKUs: every variant has its own SKU. Shared SKUs across sizes or colors cause wrong stock lookups.

  • Inventory tracking: turned on for each variant.

Turn it on

In yayloh, go to Settings > Exchanges and turn on Market-Based Inventory Check. Then click Apply changes.

A variant isn't offered as an exchange

Check these in Shopify:

  • No stock at the market's location: the item is out of stock where that market ships from. "Continue selling when out of stock" doesn't count here.

  • Not published to the market: the product isn't in that market's catalog.

  • No location for the market: the market has no fulfillment location in your shipping profile.

  • Order routing: it isn't set to ship from the closest location, so Shopify reports stock from the wrong warehouse.

  • Duplicate SKUs or inventory tracking turned off for the variant.

Everything looks right? Check whether the feature is turned on, and your other exchange settings. See Configuring exchanges for Shopify.
