How can we manage discounted items with the exchange feature?

Default Behavior:

  • If a discount is applied at the product level, customers can only exchange for a different size of the same product. Exchanges for different products will not be allowed.

  • If the discount is applied at the order level, customers can exchange for any variant or product of the same price.

Can customers exchange discounted items for other products of the same original price? (Shopify only)

You can now configure a bonus tolerance to allow exchanges even when the item was purchased at a discount. For example, with a 10% bonus tolerance, a customer who received up to 10% off the original price can still exchange for another product of the same original price. Previously, discounted items would not show other eligible products in the same category. Go to Settings → Exchanges → Allow exchange same price if welcome bonus below ( eg. 0.15 for 15%).

Blocking Exchanges During Sales:
To block exchanges when the selling price differs from the original price, enable the option to hide the exchange button. Customers will still be able to register a return or claim.

Remember to select 'Apply changes' once you update your preferences.
