Training Hub: Amazing Charts

If Amazing Charts hosts your server: our Onboarding team works with Amazing Charts to set it up.

If you host your own server: your sales rep schedules an installation session with our team.

Your admin creates your Updox username and password.

If you have the Amazing Charts Patient Portal, you can also open Updox with the SECURE button in Amazing Charts. This creates your Updox user if you don’t have one yet.

Virtual printer: sign in with your Updox username and password, or with your practice’s Integration Key (Menu > Admin > Practice Information).

Patients sync automatically from Amazing Charts.

Contacts sync only if Import Rolodex is selected in Updox Central. You can also upload a contact list (.csv).

Before you start: each user needs an EHR User ID (Menu > Admin > Users > select the user > Settings).

Type the patient’s name, then add the Document Name, Document Type, Provider, and any comments.

If you leave Date blank, it fills in today’s date.

Files appear in the patient’s chart under Imported items. You can also send the provider a message in Amazing Charts.

Categories don’t sync from Amazing Charts. Add them in Updox under Menu > Admin > Categories. A new category is created the first time you use it.

Confirmations don’t write back to Amazing Charts.

Cancellations remove the appointment from the Amazing Charts calendar.

Updox only sees calendars on your first location.

Calendar names come from Amazing Charts (user’s full name and location name).

Updox can mask the phone number that reminder calls come from.

Virtual printing works only on Windows and Mac.

Users don’t appear in Queues until they sign in to Updox for the first time.

Fax files can be up to 128 MB. A 400-page fax is usually about 40 MB.

Secure Text attachments can be up to 50 MB.

New SMS text numbers need carrier approval, which can take up to a week. You can use Secure Text in the meantime.

SMS templates must be under 140 characters.

Updox Email isn’t a HIPAA-compliant way to communicate.
