How to Create a New Proposal Using Preference?

Why This Matters

With the "Preference" option in customer profiles, you can save your choices once and use them every time for creating a proposal. Each preference is built from "stacks", simple sets of choices you make upfront, so when you create a new proposal, everything falls into place automatically. Faster, more accurate, and no more repeating yourself.

What You'll Need

  • Access to SubcontractorHub platform.

  • “Enable Solar/roofing new proposal flow” settings within proposal settings need to be turned on.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1

Click “Settings” on your customer profile.

Scroll down to find “Proposal Settings”.

Click the “Edit” icon.

Locate “Enable Solar New Proposal Flow” and “Enable Roof New Proposal Flow”. Turn the toggle on.

Scroll back up and click “Update” to finalize the changes.

Note: The new workflow of creating a proposal is only available for solar proposals for now.

Go to your customer profile and click “Preferences”.

Click the “New Stack” button.

Provide a name for the new stack and click the “Add” icon.

Once saved, you can hover over the new stack button to access the edit, copy, or delete options.

Scroll down to “State Scope”. Over here, you can select one or more states from the list.

After the states have been selected, you can toggle on the “Shareable” option. Using this option allows you to share the details of the stack with all non-admin users.

In the next step, choose the preferred vertical from the options provided.

Move to the preferred installer section and select an installer from the list. You can choose to switch on the toggle for “Auto-assign preferred installer (skip selection step)”. Using this option will let you skip the installer selection part while creating a proposal. In this case, the installer will be automatically pre selected.

Next, in the default finance type, select your preferred finance type.

Select the preferred finance partners from the dropdown.

You can also toggle on “Auto-assign design tool (skip selection step)”. This eliminates the design tool selection step when creating a proposal.

Note: If the toggle is on, then the Design Tool tab will be hidden in the proposal creation dashboard.

Scroll back up and click “Save” to finalize the changes.

Select “Customers” in the main menu. Then click the “+ New Customer” button.

Provide the required details like first name, last name, phone, email, and address. Click “Next”.

Select the preferred job type from the list. Click “Continue”.

On this screen, you can click the dropdown to select which stack you want to use for creating the proposal. Click “Next”.

Since you already selected your preferred installer while creating a new stack, the installer will be selected by default. You can also toggle on Test Data to create a proposal with test data instead of original data. Click “Next”.

The finance partner will also be pre-selected according to what you selected while creating the stack. Click “Next”.

Select your preferred equipment from the list in the next step. Click “Next”.

Choose the property type, mounting type, and provide other required details. Click “Finish”.

Note: When you create a proposal using the new flow, the commission percentages for adders, panels, and batteries are added automatically. If the proposal uses Loan financing, you can also adjust these commission percentages within the proposal.

To edit the commission, follow the steps below

Step 1: Click “Customers” from the main menu and select the preferred proposal from the list.

Step 2: Go to the “Financing” tab and click “Adjust Pricing”.

Step 3: Edit the commissions and click “Done” to save the changes.
