New UI Improvements for Sales Velocity

Why is this important?

  • Faster proposals. Merged tabs (Utility & Rates), automatic color selection, and the combined “Add system” flow cut the clicks and screen-hopping needed to build a proposal.

  • Fewer errors. Installer, finance, and design tool logos and images make it easier to pick the right option at a glance. The slimmer equipment details box keeps the list in view.

  • A consistent experience. Address and installer improvements work the same way across Solar, Roofing, and HVAC, so reps only learn the pattern once.

  • Faster closes. A quicker, cleaner workflow means proposals reach customers sooner, which is what sales velocity is about.

What will you need?

  • Access to the platform with permission to create proposals

  • The customer’s property address, or the manual address if it can’t be found

  • The job type (Solar, Roofing, and HVAC)

  • Your preferred installer, finance option, and design tool (Solar and Roofing)

  • Equipment choices: panels and inverters for Solar and materials and colors for Roofing

  • Utility rates and monthly consumption data (Solar)

  • Roof details (Roofing): site info, pitch, roof, and penetrations

  • Current system details (HVAC): name, type, and tonnage

Improvements in solar job type:

Step 1: Select “Solar” as the job type for creating a solar proposal.

Step 2: Previously, each section was arranged in tabs. Now, they have been converted to tabs. Additionally, the UI for setting up addresses has also been changed.

Step 3: You can also click “Edit” to change the existing address.

Step 4: Once you click “Edit”, you will be able to add manual address as well by checking the “Enter address manually” checkbox.

Step 5: Type the address and click “Save address”.

Step 6: The installer names come with their respective images.

Step 7: The finance options also come with their respective logos and images.

Step 8: Even for the design tools, the respective logos are visible.

Step 9: On the next screen, you can pick the equipment.

Step 10: Clicking the equipment previously provided a full view interface. Now that size of the details box has been reduced.

Step 11: Previously the Site tab used to appear at the end. Now it has been moved beside the “Equipment” tab.

Step 12: Previously, the utility and rates used to be two different tabs. Now they have been combined into one tab named “Utility & Rates”.

Step 13: Within consumption, each month’s data used to come with a sliding toggle, which has been removed

Improvements in Roofing Job Type:

Step 1: Select “Roofing” from the available job types.

Step 2: The address and installer tabs in the roofing job type have the same UI improvements as the solar job type. For the designing tool, select your preferred one under the Roof AI tab.

Step 3: The Site Info, Pitch, and Roof UI has also been updated. However, Penetrations remain the same.

Site Info:

Pitch:

Roof:

Step 4: Previously the material and color needed to be selected separately. Currently, if you select a material, the color of the material will appear automatically if they are available.

HVAC Job Type Improvements:

Step 1: Select “HVAC” as the preferred job type.

Step 2: The Address and Installer improvements in HVAC job type remains similar to the solar job type improvements.

Step 3: Previously, there was a separate option for adding multiple systems. Right now, that option has been merged into the Current system tab. You can use the “Add system” button to add new systems to your proposal.

Step 4: Fill out the necessary details including Name, Type and Tonnage and “Click” to go to the next step.

Step 5: Under the new system tab, fill out proposal type, and system location before clicking “Save system details” to go to the next step.

Step 6: Under the Packages tab, you can select your preferred package for creating the proposal. Additionally you can delete any package or edit its details.

Real life scenario

Mary, a solar and roofing sales rep, is on a call with a homeowner who wants a solar system and a new roof.

  1. She selects Solar as the job type. The homeowner’s address isn’t found, so she clicks Edit, checks Enter address manually, types it in, and clicks Save address.

  2. She picks the installer by its logo, the finance option by its lender logo, and her design tool.

  3. In Equipment, she selects the panels and sees the compact details box without losing her place. The Site tab now sits right beside it.

  4. She enters rates and monthly usage in the combined Utility & Rates tab, with no more toggles for each month.

  5. She then creates a Roofing proposal. The address and installer steps work exactly as before. She picks her design tool under Roof AI, fills in Site Info, Pitch and Roof, and selects a shingle material. The available colors appear automatically.

She finishes both proposals in far less time than before and sends them while the homeowner is still engaged.

Pro tips

  • Use manual address entry when a new build or rural property doesn’t show up in the address search.

  • Add several HVAC systems in one go with Add system in the Current system tab, instead of looking for a separate option.

  • Pick the material first in Roofing. The color fills in automatically if one is available, so you don’t need a second selection.

  • Use the logos and images to confirm the installer, lender, and design tool before moving on.

Troubleshooting

Issue

What to try

Can’t find the customer’s address

Click Edit, check Enter address manually, type the address, and click Save address.

Address change didn’t stick

Make sure you clicked Save address, not just closed the box.

Installer or finance logos not showing

Refresh the page and clear your browser cache. If it persists, the logo may be missing from the installer or lender profile, so ask your admin.

Roofing color doesn’t auto-populate

The selected material may have no colors configured. Check with your admin.

Can’t find the Site tab

It now sits beside the Equipment tab, no longer at the end.

Can’t find the Utility or Rates tab

They’re combined into one tab called Utility & Rates.

Month-by-month toggles missing in Consumption

They’ve been removed on purpose. Enter or edit each month’s data directly.

Can’t add a second HVAC system

Look for Add system in the Current system tab. The separate multi-system option no longer exists.
