How To Qualify Your Customers For Financing

Why This Matters

Getting your customers qualified for financing quickly is essential to keeping deals moving. Following these steps ensures a smooth qualification process with fewer delays and surprised customers.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1

Locate the Financing section of the proposal.​

Step 2

Choose between these financing modes.​Financing (Fully Integrated)allows sales reps to choose from a variety of solar loans from our finance partners which have direct API (e.g. GoodLeap, SOLRITE, Lightreach, etc.).​Financing (Easy Mode)is SubcontractorHub’s finance decision engine which calculates and presents the most suitable financing option for a customer based on their choice between three different categories- lowest interest rate, lowest payment, or shortest term.​Financing (Manual Entry)allows users to add and finalize financing options from their own lenders. This financing mode does not include qualification directly from the platform. Part 2- Qualifying with Fully Integrated FinancingQualifying with GoodLeapGoodLeap is a top solar finance provider offering a wide range of loans and leases, including GoodLeap+, which allows bundling solar with other home upgrades. Their platform supports flexible payment structures, greater loan amounts, higher approval rates, and co-borrower options. Sales reps can fully qualify customers and send contracts without leaving SubcontractorHub.

Step 3

Go to the financing section of the proposal and selectFinancing (Fully Integrated).​

Step 4

Click on the“GoodLeap” button.

Step 5

Select the customer’s utility from the“Select Utility Company” drop-down and click the“Update” button.​

Step 6

Click the“Finance Options” drop-down to choose a finance option.

Step 7

Click“Add Loan” to add the financing card. You can add multiple financing cards.

Step 8

Click“Finalize” to finalize the solar loan.

Step 9

Click“Qualify”.

Step 10

Enter your details and signature. Click on the“Clear” button to clear the signature. Click the“Approved” button when the signature is correctly written. Then click on“Next”.​

Step 11

Input the credit details and click“Submit”.

Step 12

If your customer qualifies, you’ll receive a congratulatory pop-up. Click“Ok” to return to the proposal.​

Step 13

Click“Sync Quotes” to get an updated status on your GoodLeap finance card.​

Step 14

Click“Yes” to continue.

Step 15

When a homeowner qualifies, the“Qualify” icon will transition to blue and read"Qualified". Click“Send Finance Docs” to share the finance contract with the customer via email.​

Step 16

Click“Yes”. This will generate the contract.​

Step 17

The contract will be sent to the homeowner's email, where they will be able to sign their portion. From the email, click“Review Document” to proceed. Qualifying With LightReachLightReach offers straightforward solar financing with a focus on customer-friendly terms. Homeowners can qualify with a 650 credit score and a 7-year financial lookback. Their lease structure includes a purchase option after year 5, and no bill until after PTO. SubcontractorHub supports full qualification and contract signing for LightReach financing.

Step 18

Go to the financing section of the proposal and selectFinancing (Fully Integrated).​

Click the“LightReach” button.​

Select the utility company from the corresponding drop-down box.​

Click“Create Account”.​

Select the Financing Option and Rate from the corresponding drop-down boxes.​

Click“Create Quote”.

Click“Finalize” to finalize the quote.

Click“Qualify” to proceed with qualification.

Enter the customer’s details and click“Submit”.

If your customer qualifies, you’ll receive a congratulatory pop-up. Click“Ok” to return to the proposal.

Click“Send Finance Docs” to share the contract.

Click“Yes” to continue.

Step 30

The loan documents will arrive in your customer’s inbox. From the email, click“Review Document” to proceed. The loan documents must be signed in order to complete the qualification process. Once the customer signs the contract and the stipulation documents are uploaded, the proposal is converted into a project. Qualifying With SOLRITESOLRITE offers flexible solar lease/PPA options and is designed to approve a broader range of homeowners, qualifying up to 43% more customers than traditional options. They provide two tiers of financing: SOLRITE Gold for stronger credit and SOLRITE Silver for customers with lower credit scores (550–649). Sales reps can generate quotes, finalize contracts, and send documents directly from the platform.

Go to the financing section of the proposal and selectFinancing (Fully Integrated), then click on the“SOLRITE” button.​

Click“Create Account”.

Click"Qualify Homeowner".

Step 34

A title verification pop-up box will appear. You can proceed with the current title or replace it with the suggested title in the box. Then, click"Continue."

Step 35

Enter the customer's birthday, check both acknowledgement boxes, and click"Submit". If you receive a message reading"We were unable to match you with any financing options at this time", the customer has failed credit for both SOLRITE Gold and SOLRITE Silver.

Step 36

Your customer’s credit score will decide whether they are eligible for SOLRITE Gold or SOLRITE Silver. (Gold is the good credit quoting, 650 FICO +. Silver is for customers with FICO scores from 550 to 649).If your customer qualifies, you will receive a congratulatory pop-up window to confirm the pre-qualification. Click"Close".

Step 37

After pre-qualification, select pricing from the“Escalator Rate” and“Pricing” dropdowns. This will display the kWh rate, monthly payment, and gross PPW options.​

Step 38

Click“Create Quote”.​

Step 39

When a homeowner qualifies, the icon will transition to blue and read"Qualified". Click"Finalize" to save a quote and to generate a quote summary. It will appear below as you scroll down. You must finalize a quote before you can send out contract documents.

Step 40

Next, click on"Send Contract Documents". This will generate the contract. The contract will be sent to the sales rep first. They will sign their name and click"Finish".The contract will then be sent to the homeowner's email, where they will be able to sign their portion and click"Finish".Clicking"Finish" will trigger the homeowner to be sent a Welcome Email from SOLRITE. You will need to navigate to this email to complete the customer creation process. Part 3- Qualifying With Easy ModeEasy Mode is SubcontractorHub’s built-in finance decision tool. It helps sales reps quickly filter through available financing products based on the customer’s needs. Choose from:Lowest Interest RateLowest Monthly PaymentShortest TermOnce selected, Easy Mode automatically surfaces matching loans, allowing sales reps to proceed with qualification, finalize quotes, and send loan documents—all from within the proposal.

Step 41

Locate the financing section of the proposal.​

SelectFinancing (Easy Mode)by clicking the button.​

Step 43

Choose between Lowest Interest Rate, Lowest Payment and Shortest Term factors and click on the corresponding button.​

Select one of the solar loans and click“Finalize” to continue with a quote.​

Step 45

Click“Qualify” to start the loan qualification process.​

Enter your details and signature. Click“Clear” to clear the signature. Click“Approved” when the signature has been written correctly. Then click“Next”.​

Step 47

Input the credit details and click“Submit”.​

Click“Ok” to return to the proposal.​

Click“Send Loan Docs Request” to share the finance contract with the customer via email.​

Step 50

The loan documents will arrive in your customer’s inbox. From the email, click“Review Document” to proceed. The loan documents must be signed in order to complete the qualification process.​Part 4- Qualifying By Sending The Application To HomeownerYour customer can opt to complete the qualification process themselves via an application sent to their email. Follow the steps below to learn how to do this.

Click“Finalize” to finalize a quote.

Click“Send Application To Homeowner”.

The application will arrive in your customer’s inbox. Direct your customer to open the link.​

Direct your customer to click“Qualify”.

Your customer must fill out the credit application form and click“Submit”.

If your customer qualifies, they will receive a message of congratulations.

Refresh the proposal page to see the updated status on the finance card.

When a homeowner qualifies, the“Qualify” icon will transition to blue and read"Qualified". Click“Send Finance Docs” to share the finance contract with the customer via email.

Click“Yes”. This will generate the contract.​

Your customer will receive an email with further instructions on how to complete the document signing process.
