How to connect Box to Coworker

Connect Box so Coworker can read the files and folders you work with. Box is a per-user (individual) connection.

What Coworker can do with Box

  • Read the files and folders your Box account can reach

  • Produce an activity report per file with meaningful activity: what changed, who did it, and how significant it was

  • Use Box content to answer questions alongside your other connected sources

Each report inherits its file's access policy, so its audience is exactly the file's collaborators as Box knows them. Files with nothing notable produce no report.

Before you start

  • You need an active Box account

  • Box must not be blocked for your workspace by a Coworker admin

Connect as a member

  1. Go to the Work page at app.coworker.ai.

  2. Click Data Sources.

  3. Select Box under Available sources.

  4. Complete the Box OAuth authorization.

Connect as an admin

There is no workspace-wide Box connection. An admin can connect their own account like any member, or block Box for the workspace from Source Settings.

Good to know

  • Coverage is the union of what connected users can see — one broken credential only reduces that person's slice.

  • Box refresh tokens rotate on every use. If a rotation is interrupted or the token hits its hard expiry, you will need to reconnect.

  • Changes to the Box app's content permissions can require you to re-authorize.
