How to connect Confluence to Coworker

Connect Confluence so Coworker can read your team's documentation and reason about it alongside everything else. Confluence needs a workspace credential from an admin — individual connections cannot replace it.

What Coworker can do with Confluence

  • Index Confluence pages and spaces so they are searchable and usable in Deep Work

  • Report on page activity: pages whose content genuinely changed, what was added or reworked, and by whom

  • Resolve Confluence authors to the same Person entities as your other sources

Before you start

  • An admin must connect Confluence for the workspace. Until they do, a Confluence connection indexes nothing, no matter how many members have connected their own accounts.

  • The admin needs either the Confluence base URL plus an Atlassian email and API token, or an API token with a Cloud ID for a service account.

Connect as an admin

  1. Open Data Sources from the admin settings in Coworker and select Confluence.

  2. Enter your Confluence base URL, the email associated with the API token, and the API token. Alternatively, supply an API token with a Cloud ID for a service account.

  3. Save. Coworker validates the credential and reports any mismatch.

Connect as a member

  1. Go to the Work page and click Data Sources.

  2. Select Confluence and complete the OAuth authorization.

Your individual connection does not feed the sync. It exists so Coworker's live tools can act in Confluence as you.

Good to know

  • Atlassian rate limits are enforced per shared application rather than per tenant, which is why the per-user fan-out is disabled and one admin credential does a single global pass.

  • The admin credential also supplies identity, deriving account-ID-to-email from group membership, personal-space authors and space permissions.

  • If Confluence features change, you may be prompted to re-authenticate your individual connection.
