How To Add Email Ids For Credit Fail Check

Why This Matters

When a customer's credit application fails, time matters. The sooner your team knows, the sooner they can follow up with the customer — offering alternative financing, answering questions, or adjusting the proposal.

SubcontractorHub's Email for Credit Fail feature sends an automatic email notification to the right person (or people) the moment a credit check fails. No more checking manually or finding out days later.

What You'll Need

  • Admin access to SubcontractorHub

  • The email address(es) you want to receive credit fail notifications

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open Your Settings

Click "Hi, [Your Name]" in the top-right corner and select Settings from the dropdown menu.

Step 2: Find Incentives/Financing

Scroll down in your settings until you see Incentives/Financing.

Step 3: Click Edit

Click the Edit button to modify the financing settings.

Step 4: Enable Credit Fail Emails

Scroll down to find "Email for Credit Fail." Turn on the toggle and enter the email address(es) that should receive the notifications.

Step 5: Save Your Changes

Scroll back up and click Update to save.

That's it! From now on, when a credit check fails, the email address(es) you entered will be notified automatically.

Real-World Example

David runs a solar company and adds his finance manager's email to the Credit Fail notification. When a customer's credit application is declined on a Tuesday afternoon, his finance manager gets an instant email. She calls the customer within the hour and helps them apply through a different lender — saving the deal. Without the notification, they might not have noticed until the weekly pipeline review on Friday.

Pro Tips

  • 💡 Add multiple email addresses if more than one person should be notified (like your sales manager and finance team)

  • 💡 Use a shared inbox (like finance@yourcompany.com) so notifications don't get lost if someone's out of the office

  • 💡 Follow up quickly — customers who get declined are at highest risk of walking away
