Why does this matter?
This permission gives admins better control over who can edit report information. You can allow trusted users to update report fields while keeping editing access restricted for everyone else.
What will you need?
Admin access to Users and Roles
Access to User Profiles
The role you want to update
Step 1: From the main menu, click “Users and Roles” and select “User Profiles” from the dropdown.
Step 2: Select the preferred role and click the “View Detail” icon.
Step 3: Locate “Reports”.
Step 4: Locate “Edit Fields” and turn the toggle on.
3. Real-World Example
A sales manager needs to correct information in reports, but you don't want every sales rep to have editing access. An admin can enable Reports → Edit Fields for the sales manager's role, allowing them to make changes without giving other users the same access.
4. Pro Tip
Only enable Edit Fields for roles that need to make changes to report data. This helps prevent accidental edits and keeps your reports more accurate.
5. Troubleshooting
Can't edit report fields?
Check that Reports → Edit Fields are turned on for the user's role.
Make sure the user is assigned to the correct User Profile/Role.
If the permission is enabled but editing is still unavailable, refresh the page and try again.
