Points with the use of various currencies

Currencies and points

Updated over a month ago

easyPoints can be used with various forms of currencies for global opportunities.

It functions off the currency exchange rate information within Shopify, enabling point redemption and crediting across different currencies.

Shopify currency settings

In the Shopify settings, the currency on the management page and sales analytics will be displayed as the "Store currency", while the "Payout currency" determines the currency for customer orders.

To enable diverse currency transactions within your online store, the "payout currency" needs to be configured.

For further details, please refer to the link below.

Moreover, Shopify currency exchange rates can be automated or configured manually.
Based on the setting, the price of store products will be adjusted automatically.

For further information, please refer to the article below.

Points with varying currencies

easyPoints is an application based in Japan. Therefore, the purchase made in a different currency will be calculated and converted to Japanese Yen for the reception of points. The point rule is based on Japanese Yen and will credit points for the converted price.

The redemption of points is the same, with an automatic conversion to calculate the worth of 1 point, depending on the currency.

Therefore, customers can receive and redeem points at rates equivalent to Japanese customers for a fair experience.

If the Shopify settings are configured correctly, there are no adjustments to be made on the easyPoints app.

Unfortunately, setting the point rule to "$1 = amount of points" is not available. (*)

If you encounter issues with the display of other currencies, please reach out to our customer support team: easypoints@lunaris.jp

The point rule can be set based on foreign currencies only if the store's default currency is set to something other than JPY. Please note that the default address always has to be placed in Japan, Singapore, Germany or South Korea in order to use the app.
