Deleting mailboxes or domains: what to know before you do

How mailbox/domain deletion and bulk-select work in your dashboard, whether it can be undone, and what to do if you deleted the wrong ones.

Deleting a mailbox or domain in your Maildoso dashboard is a one-way action in almost all cases — once it's gone, the mailbox or domain and its warmup/reputation history are removed and can't be restored from the dashboard yourself. This guide covers how bulk-select works, why it's easy to select more than you meant to, and what to do if a deletion wasn't intentional.

Bulk-select applies to everything matching your current filter

On the Mailboxes and Domains pages, "select all" selects every row matching your current search/filter — not just the rows visible on screen. If a filter from an earlier search is still active, "select all" can catch far more mailboxes or domains than you expect. Before confirming a bulk delete, check the count in the confirmation dialog against the number you actually meant to remove.

Deactivated is not the same as deleted

A deactivated mailbox (see My mailbox was deactivated) still exists and can usually be reactivated from your dashboard. A deleted mailbox or domain has been removed and doesn't come back the same way — if your dashboard shows something as gone rather than deactivated, that distinction matters for what we can do about it.

If you deleted the wrong mailbox or domain

Contact support right away with the affected mailbox/domain names and roughly when it happened. Depending on how much time has passed, recovery may be possible — but it isn't guaranteed, so the sooner you reach out, the better the odds. Re-purchasing a deleted domain or re-creating a deleted mailbox is not the same as restoring it: warmup progress and reputation history don't carry over to a newly created one.

When to contact support

Reach out if: you deleted more mailboxes or domains than intended, something disappeared without you deleting it, or you're not sure whether it was deactivated or deleted. Include the affected mailbox/domain names and the approximate time — that's what we need to check whether recovery is possible.
