Can I host a website or add A/CNAME records on my Maildoso sending domain?

How DNS is managed on your Maildoso domains, and your options if you want to host a website or point records to your own server.

A common question is whether you can host a website on a domain you use for sending, or add your own A / CNAME records (for example to point the root domain at your web server). Here's how it works and what your options are.

Why custom records can't be added on managed domains

While a domain is managed by us, its DNS is fully controlled on our side. This is deliberate: it keeps your MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records stable and protects the deliverability of your mailboxes. Because of this, we're not able to add or change third-party records such as custom A or CNAME entries, even if mail and warmup would be left untouched.

Your options

  • Use a separate domain for your website. The simplest approach is to keep your sending domains dedicated to email and host your website on a different domain that you manage yourself. This also keeps your marketing site and your cold-outreach domains cleanly separated, which is good practice.

  • Transfer the domain out for full DNS control. If you specifically need to host a site on a sending domain, the only way to get full DNS control is to transfer that domain to a registrar where you manage the DNS yourself. After the transfer you can add any A, CNAME, or other records you like. Keep in mind that once a domain leaves our management, we no longer maintain its mail records, so it should no longer be relied on for sending through Maildoso.

Root-domain redirects

Many customers only want visitors who type the sending domain into a browser to land somewhere sensible. Your domains already redirect to a destination you can configure, so you may not need a full website on the sending domain at all.
