If your billing page shows a different cycle than you expected — for example "monthly" when you thought domains were yearly, or a checkout total that's higher than the mailbox price you first saw — this is almost always because mailboxes and domains are billed separately. Here's how it works.
Mailbox plans and domains are billed separately
Your mailbox plan can be billed monthly or yearly, depending on the plan you chose.
Your domains are a yearly registration fee of $12 per domain, per year. This is charged annually and is separate from your mailbox subscription.
Because these are two separate items, your total at checkout includes both the mailbox plan and the domain registration — which is why the total can be higher than the mailbox price shown on its own.
Why my billing page says "monthly" even though domains are yearly
When your account combines mailboxes and domains, the billing page may label the overall subscription as "monthly" while the domain portion is still a once-a-year registration fee rather than a recurring monthly charge. The way the cycle is displayed does not change the total amount you pay — your domains are still billed as a yearly registration.
When is my next charge?
The "next payment" date on your billing page is your mailbox plan renewal date.
Your domain registration renews once a year on its own renewal date, as long as your subscription stays active.
It's normal to see the mailbox renewal and the domain renewal as separate dates and separate charges.
