How to Upload Your Proof of Address Successfully (Including NIN – Nigeria)

Updated today

To help your Proof of Address (POA) get approved quickly, it’s important that the address you enter in the app matches exactly the address shown on the document you upload.

Even small differences (spelling, abbreviations, missing lines) can cause delays or rejections.

Below are the best ways to avoid that.

✅ The Best Way to Enter Your Address

Before typing your address in the app, we recommend this simple step:

  1. Open the document you plan to upload

    • Bank statement, electricity bill, or other accepted POA

  2. Copy the address exactly as it appears on the document

  3. Paste it into the address field in the nsave app

  4. Upload the same document

Doing this helps our system verify your address faster and avoids mismatches.

🇳🇬 Using Your NIN as Proof of Address (Nigeria)

If you choose to use your National Identification Number (NIN) to validate your address, please note:

  • The address you enter in the app must match the address stored in your NIN profile

  • Many users are unsure what address is currently linked to their NIN, which can lead to rejections

Important tip

If you’re using NIN:

  • Make sure you input your address exactly as it appears in the NIN database

  • If the address is outdated or different from where you currently live, your POA may not be approved

If you’re unsure about your NIN address, using a bank statement or utility bill is often the fastest option.

📄 Accepted Proof of Address Documents

You can use any of the following (as long as they’re clear and recent):

  • Bank statements from regulated banks

  • Utility bills (electricity, water, gas)

  • Official government letters

  • Lease or rental agreements

Documents must:

  • Show your full name

  • Show your full address

  • Be clear and readable

❌ Common Reasons POA Gets Rejected

  • Address typed in the app doesn’t match the document

  • Missing address line or city

  • Old or unclear document

  • Using an address different from your NIN profile (when using NIN)
