Is There a Limit on ACH Transfers?

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Short answer: No, there is no general limit on ACH transfers.

We’ve seen some confusion about this, so here’s how it works.

✅ What Has No Limit

There is no cap for:

  • Salary payments

  • Employer payments

  • Transfers from your own bank/fintech/brokerage account

  • Payments from registered businesses (e.g., Deel, Gusto, Payoneer, Wise, Mercury, etc.)

We regularly process transactions well above $4,000 without issues.

⚠️ When the $4,000 Rule Applies

The $4,000 limit only applies to:

  • Third-party Person-to-Person (P2P) ACH transfers
(from one individual to another individual)

  • If you are a non-US resident, these P2P payments are limited to under $4,000.

  • If a transfer above $4,000 is returned, it is likely classified as a third-party P2P payment.

Why Does This Happen?

This rule comes from our ACH processing partner and is specific to certain transfer types - it is not a blanket limit on your account.

Still Not Sure?

If a transfer was returned and you’re unsure why, contact support@nsave.com and share:

  • Transfer amount

  • Sender name

  • Sender type (individual or business)

We’ll help clarify quickly.
