Board vs Advanced Board

The Advanced Board was designed as a direct upgrade to the original Board view, introducing key enhancements to improve speed and usability.

The Route Manager offers two distinct layouts: the classic Board and the new Advanced Board . Understanding the difference between the Board and Advanced Board views helps you choose the layout that best fits your operational needs, with the Advanced Board offering significant improvements in performance and flexibility.

What the Differences Are

  • Performance: The Advanced Board loads significantly faster, which is especially helpful for businesses managing a large number of daily routes.

  • Card Customization: The original Board has a fixed layout for route cards. The Advanced Board allows you to customize the cards to show or hide specific information, such as work order numbers, service notes, or custom fields.

  • Route Sorting: The original Board displays routes in alphabetical order only. The Advanced Board gives you control over the display order. You can sort routes by the number of stops, by name, or create a completely custom order by dragging and dropping the route columns.

  • Progress Bar: The Advanced Board provides a progress bar to help you see how far long your driver is on the route they're currently driving. When a route is "In Progress," we show how much of the route has been driven, how much left is to be driven, an estimate for when the route will be finished, and how many of the route's stops have been completed so far.

Why It Matters

Using the Advanced Board can make your dispatching process faster and more intuitive. The performance improvements reduce waiting time, while the customization options allow you to tailor the dashboard to your team's specific workflow.

By displaying only the most relevant information on cards, you can reduce visual clutter and help your team focus on what's important. The flexible sorting options allow you to organize your routes based on operational priority, giving you a more logical and effective overview of the day's work.

How to customize the information displayed on route cards

By following these steps, you can tailor the board to show only the details that are most important to your workflow, making it easier to manage your routes at a glance. This feature is available exclusively in the Advanced Board view.

Navigate to the Route Manager and select the Advanced Board view.

Click the Customize cards button located in the top-left corner of the board.

From the dropdown menu, check the box next to any information you want to display on the cards.

Uncheck the box next to any information you want to hide.

Your changes will automatically apply to all route cards on the board.

TIP:

Card customizations apply to all routes on the board. It is not possible to customize cards on an individual basis.

Change the sort order of routes on the board

Customizing your board view helps you organize routes based on your operational needs, such as by stop count or a specific custom sequence. This functionality is available exclusively on the Advanced Board.

From the navigation bar, go to Routes > Route manager.

Click the Advanced Board tab to switch to the advanced view.

In the top-right corner of the board, click the Order routes by: dropdown menu.

  1. Most stops

  2. Fewest stops

  3. Name (A-Z)

  4. Name (Z-A)

  5. Custom order

If you select Custom order, you can click and drag the header of any route column to rearrange it on the board.
