Route Manager Cluster Map Overview

Explains the addition of the Cluster map view to Route Manager (joining the Board and Map views) and how to navigate it.

Overview of the Cluster Map in Route Manager

The Cluster Map view provides a high-performance, visual interface for managing your routes and stops. It allows you to see the geographic distribution of your stops and perform various routing actions directly from a map view.

How do I access the Cluster Map view?

  1. From the Hauler Hero office app, click the Routes tab to go to Route manager page.

  2. Under the Route manager heading, you’ll see tabs for Board | Map | Cluster map.

  3. Click Cluster map.

  4. Click the Control panel button on the left to expand the panel.

    1. To hide it again, click the < icon.

The Control Panel

The Control panel on the left side of the map contains all the tools you need to customize your view and interact with your stops.

You can save your settings by clicking the floppy disc icon 💾 next to the Control panel heading.

Action Icons on the Control Panel

The top row of icons provides shortcuts to common routing actions and map settings.

  • Unassigned stops: View stops that are not yet part of any route.

  • Assigned stops: Open the tool to assign unassigned stops to a route.

  • Driver path: Visualize the driver’s path on the map.

  • Sequence line: Display the stop sequence as a line on the map.

  • WebGL: Toggles Graphics Processing Unit (GPU)-accelerated rendering for smoother performance with a large number of stops. This is especially useful when viewing thousands of stops at once.

    • For improved performance with many stops, ensure the WEBGL option in the Control panel is enabled. This uses your computer’s graphics processor (GPU) to render markers more efficiently.

Map and Data Display Controls on the Control Panel

These settings allow you to adjust how stops and labels are displayed on the map.

  • Cluster zoom level: This slider determines at what zoom level individual stops begin to group together into clusters.

    • Higher zoom levels keep stops grouped longer (deeper zoom), while lower levels split them into individual stops sooner.

  • Data grouping: Choose how stops are grouped. Unified shows all stops together, while Route groups them by their assigned route.

  • Map Style: Switch between Street view and Satellite imagery.

  • Offset level (m): Controls the offset spacing for individual stop markers that overlap with each other.

  • Label spacing: For a clearer overview when you are zoomed out, use this slider to declutter the view. As you zoom in, labels will automatically appear and become more detailed, allowing you to focus on specific areas without being overwhelmed by information. This slider controls the density of stop labels on the map, or how many stop labels are shown when markers overlap.

    • Move the slider towards Sparse or Off to reduce clutter from overlapping labels when zoomed out, or towards All to see as many labels as possible.
