How to Bulk Move Stops Between Routes

This article helps haulers looking to move multiple stops from one or more routes to another route for a specific date or all future dates of that day of the week.

How do I move stops between routes?

Rebalancing routes used to mean a lot of back-and-forth (pick the old route, pick the stops, pick the new route, move, repeat). Now you can do it all from one place. You can pull stops from one or more routes, including any unassigned ones, in a single session, see exactly how the change lands before it goes live, and push it to your drivers without leaving the view.

This article covers two ways to move stops between routes: through Master Sequence, our recommended approach, and the through original Bulk Actions method through the board or list views if you prefer the classic flow.

Before you start

  • Make sure you're on the correct date before making changes.

Method 1: Master Sequence (recommended)

Master Sequence is the fastest way to rebalance your routes. Instead of navigating between a stop’s original route and its new route separately, you start from where you want stops to end up and then pull in exactly what you need from other routes (even unassigned stops), all in one sweep. Before anything goes live, you'll see a preview of the impact so there are no surprises for your drivers.

How to open Master Sequence

From Route Manager, open Master Sequence one of two ways:

  • Click the ··· menu next to any route → select Master sequence

  • Click the Master sequence icon in the top toolbar (between Filters and + New route)

Both options are available in Board, Advanced board, and List views.

Steps

  • Open Master sequence using either method above.

  • In the top-left dropdown, select the route you want to move stops to (your destination route).

  • In the second dropdown (below the day of week selector, above the search bar), select a route or unassigned stops to pull from. The left panel updates to show that route's stops.

  • Specify the date you want to pull from and where in the stop sequence you want your additions to be added.

  • Click Bulk select to enter selection mode, then check the stops you want to move. Use the search bar to find specific stops quickly.

  • Need stops from more than one route? Switch the second dropdown to another route. Your existing selections are preserved, so you can keep building without starting over.

  • Specify what position in the destination route’s sequence these stops should be moved to.

  • Choose how the move should apply:

    • Current day: moves the selected stops for the date you selected only

    • Permanent: updates the master route so the change sticks going forward. You'll see a forward projection of the impact across future dates before you commit.

  • Review your changes in the right panel. Your additions will be highlighted in green.

  • Click Update in the top-right corner.

  • In the Choose publish destination prompt, confirm Live is selected and click Publish.

Notes:

  • Nothing is applied until you click Publish. The right panel is a live draft preview until then.

  • Changed your mind on a move? Press Cmd + Z (Mac) or Ctrl + Z (Windows) to undo.

  • In addition to searching for specific stops, can sort the stop list from A-Z by account name or address, or by their original sequence order.

  • Do you prefer to see your stops on a map? Switch to the Map tab inside Master Sequence for a side-by-side view. Note: On-screen undo buttons aren't available in map view. Use Cmd/Ctrl + Z instead.

Method 2: Bulk button

Prefer the original flow? The Bulk action buttons are still available and work well for one-time adjustments on a specific date.

  • From Route Manager, click the blue Bulk button in the top-right corner.

  • Select Move between routes from the dropdown.

  • In the Select a date pop-up, confirm the service date and click Next.

  • In the Move from section, use the Select a route dropdown to choose the origin route.

  • In the Move to section, use the Select a route dropdown to choose the destination route.

  • Select the stops you want to move by checking the boxes next to each stop.

  • Click Move at the top of the Move from column.

  • In the Sequence pop-up, choose how to order the stops in the new route:

    • Preserve sequence: keeps their existing order. Enter a Starting position for where they'll land in the destination route.

    • Reset sequence: moves all stops to position 0 at the top of the route for you to reorder. You’ll then need to add the number order they should follow.

  • Choose how the move should apply:

    • Current day: moves the selected stops for the date you selected only

    • Permanent: updates the master route so the change sticks going forward
