Why does this matter?
You can now handle GoodLeap refunds directly from the project’s payment history. This makes it easier to process full or partial refunds, record the reason, and keep refund details connected to the payment.
What will you need?
Access to Manage Projects
Access to the relevant GoodLeap-funded project
The payment you want to refund
The refund amount and reason
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1: From the main menu, click “Manage Projects” and select “Projects” from the dropdown.
Step 2: Select the preferred project from the list.
Step 3: Once the project details page open, click the “Invoice” tab.
Step 4: Under payment history, you will find “Refund” button next to the payment details. Click it.
Step 5: Fill out the reason and amount of refund. You can apply for a partial or full refund. Click “Submit”.
Step 6: Once submitted, you will be able to see all refund-related details in payment history.
Real-World Example
A customer was charged for a project but needs part of the payment returned because an item was removed from the final scope. The user can open the project, find the payment under Invoice → Payment History, click Refund, select the reason, enter the partial refund amount, and submit it.
Pro Tip
Before submitting a refund, double-check the refund amount and reason. You can choose between a full or partial refund, so make sure the amount matches what needs to be returned.
