Getting Started - Fieldwork Dashboard and Settings

How to find your way around the Fieldwork browser

Written by Beau O'Hara

Summary

The Dashboard gives you a high-level view of the business side of your operation, and the Navigation bar is how you move between every area of Fieldwork. This article covers what you'll see when you log in and how to get around.

We recommend using Google Chrome as your browser while working in Fieldwork.

Key Points

  • You must have an Administrator role to see the Dashboard

  • Choose which Widgets to show or hide on your Dashboard

  • Each Widget has a View link to a full report with more details

  • The Navigation bar takes you to every area of Fieldwork and to Settings

The Dashboard

Administrators see the Dashboard right after logging in — a snapshot of various aspects of your business. In the upper-right corner, you'll find buttons to set the date range, compare to a previous period, and choose your Widgets.

Choosing Your Widgets

Click the Widgets button in the upper-right corner

To show or hide widgets on your Dashboard, select or unselect the checkbox next to the widget you want to edit. Available widgets include:

  • Each Widget has an Information image to the right of it. Hover your mouse over it to see guidance text about that Widget.

  • Each Widget has a View link that takes you to a report for more detailed information.

The Navigation Bar

The Navigation bar runs along the top of the browser and is how you get around Fieldwork. It includes shortcuts for:

Note: what you see depends on two things: users with a role other than Administrator won't have access to every shortcut, and your subscription plan may not include all of them.

For more on which links are available based on your role, see User roles — designed to be limited.
